The Woman King

Jeffries is a struggling actor who ends up taking a job as a bathroom attendant in a Hollywood nightclub called The Fix to pay rent. Oddly enough, he finds the work suits him.

House of Chow is a comedic series on HBO that was developed by Viola Davis and Julius Tennon’s production company (JuVee Productions). Ken Cheng wrote the pilot and will continue on as one of the executive producers.

Cheng grew up in a restaurant kitchen and has based the show on some of his experiences. House of Chow follows siblings Vicky and Charlie Chow and their reluctant partnership to bring success to their family’s old Chinese restaurant.

Wild Seed

Wild Seed, a drama series based on the first of Octavia Butler's “Patternist” books. The tale of 2 African immortals who travel the ages will come to Amazon courtesy of Viola Davis and Julius Tennon of JuVee Production and will be written by author Nnedi Okorafor and Rafiki filmmaker Wanuri Kahiu.

Bruce’s Beach

The century-old story of Bruce’s Beach will become a scripted TV series. The project, from Brad Pitt’s Plan B and Viola Davis and Julius Tennon’s JuVee Productions, is currently in development at Amazon Studios. The story takes place near Los Angeles on a beach resort called Bruce’s Beach in the city of Manhattan Beach in the early 1900s. Bruce’s Beach provided opportunities and work for the black community that was not available in other beach areas.

The Personal History of Rachel Dupree

Viola Davis and Julius Tennon’s Juvee Productions along with Brian Rosen and Su Armstrong’s SixtyFourSixty are working with Claire McCarthy who is both director and writer of the script, based on the novel by Ann Weisgarber. Viola Davis is set to take on the role of Rachel Dupree.

Get on Up

Get on Up is a 2014 American biographical musical drama about the life of singer James Brown. Tate Taylor directed the film and Jez and John-Henry Butterworth wrote it. The film stars Chadwick Boseman as Brown, Nelsan Ellis as Bobby Byrd, Dan Aykroyd as Ben Bart, Viola Davis as Susie Brown, Craig Robinson as Maceo Parker, and Octavia Spencer as Aunt Honey. Giving Voice

Giving Voice was released at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2020 and was picked up shortly after and released by Netflix in December 2020. Giving Voice was produced by Juluis Tennon and Viola Davis and stars Denzel Washington and Viola Davis. The film follows 6 students as they advance through the August Wilson Monologue Competition for a shot to perform on Broadway.
